Prayers
The Sign of the Cross
+In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The Our Father
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily Bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those Who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Come Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and make the Fire of your Love burn within them.
R. Send forth your Spirit, and there shall be another creation;
V. And you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O God, you have instructed the hearts of the faithful by
the light of the Holy Spirit. Grant that through the same
Holy Spirit we may always be truly wise and rejoice in your
consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Salve Regina
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor, banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy upon us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the Promises of Christ. Let us pray. Almighty and ever-living God, Who by the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, didst prepare the body and soul of the glorious Virgin-Mother, Mary, to be a fit dwelling for Thy Son, grant that we who rejoice in her memory may be freed by her kindly prayers both from present ills and from eternal death. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Queen of Heaven
Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia. The Son whom you were privileged to bear, alleluia, has risen as he said, alleluia. Pray to God for us, alleluia. Rejoice and be glad, Virgin Mary, alleluia. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia. Let us pray. O God, it was by the Resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that you brought joy to the world. Grant that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may attain the joy of eternal life. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
The Divine Praises
Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. Blessed be the Name of Jesus. Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart. Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy. Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception. Blessed be her glorious Assumption. Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother. Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and sitteth at the Right Hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Prayer Before Meals
Bless us Oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
An Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
An Act of Hope
O my God, relying on your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
An Act of Love
O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.
An Act of Contrition
O my God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

The Rosary
The rosary is a meditative prayer that enables us to reflect
on the events in the lives of Jesus and Mary. The complete
rosary is composed of fifteen decades. It is divided into
three distinct parts, each with five decades. The first
part consists of five joyful events in the life of Jesus
and Mary, the second recalls five sorrowful events, and
the third considers five glorious events. We begin by making
the sign of the cross.
Then we say the Apostles Creed, an Our Father, three Hail
Marys, and one Glory to the Father on the small chain. Then
recall the first mystery, say one Our Father, ten Hail Marys,
and one Glory to the Father. This completes one decade.
All the other decades are said in the same manner with a
different mystery meditated during each decade. At the end
of the rosary, the prayer Hail, Holy Queen may be recited.
The mysteries of the rosary are scenes from the life of
Jesus and Mary. Meditate on these events and come to a better
understanding of a few of the truths of the gospel, including:
the Incarnation, the Redemption, and the Christian Life
-- present and future. It is also appropriate to use other
scenes and events from the scriptures for mediation as you
pray.
A List of the Mysteries:
The Joyful Mysteries:
- The messenger of God announces to Mary that she is to be the Mother of God.
- Mary visits and helps her cousin Elizabeth.
- Mary gives birth to Jesus in a stable in Bethlehem.
- Jesus is presented in the Temple.
- Jesus is found in the Temple.
The Sorrowful Mysteries:
- Jesus undergoes his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
- Jesus is scourged at the pillar.
- Jesus is crowned with thorns.
- Jesus carries the cross to Calvary.
- Jesus dies on the cross for our sins.
The Glorious Mysteries:
- Jesus rises from the dead.
- Jesus ascends into heaven.
- The Holy Spirit comes to the apostles and the Blessed Mother.
- The Mother of Jesus is taken into heaven.
- Mary is crowned queen of heaven and earth.
The Luminous Mysteries:
- Jesus is baptized in the Jordan.
- Jesus' self-manifestation at the wedding in Cana.
- Jesus proclaims the kingdom of God.
- Jesus' Transfiguration.
- Jesus institutes the Eucharist as the sacramental expression of the paschal mystery.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness,
and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this
valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your
eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show
unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement,
O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.
R: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
V: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: O God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech you, that meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
