Advent Giving Tree
is set up in the church narthex the weekend after Thanksgiving Day. Participants are asked to take a tag from the tree and bring back the Christmas gift indicated on the tag. These gifts are then distributed to various agencies, organizations and individuals who in turn deliver them to those in need in our community. For more information, contact Andrea Liggett at the parish office, (425) 822-0295 x200.
Crossroads Meal Program
provides a meal to low income people living in the Crossroads Mall area on the first Thursday of every month. Volunteers help prepare the food in the Social Hall kitchen and then deliver and serve the meal at the Salvation Army on 156th Ave NE in Bellevue. Meal prep begins at 3:30 and the evening ends by 7:30. Volunteers can choose between just cooking or just serving so the time requirement is less. Individuals or groups are also needed to provide homemade cookies to serve with the meal. For more information, contact Doris Steele, or call the parish office, (425) 822-0295.
Lazarus House
volunteers meet on the 7th of each month to make sandwiches for homeless men and women. Drivers pick up bread and deliver sandwiches to downtown Seattle. Substitute drivers are needed. Sandwich makers and/or sandwich fillings are welcome.
For more information, contact Bob and Kay Wood, or call the parish office, (425) 822-0295.
Malawi Sister Parish Committee
works to support our sister parish relationship with the Nguludi Catholic Mission in Malawi, Africa. Through sharing prayer requests fostering mutual understanding, building individual relationship, exchanging parish delegations, offering financial support and implementing improvement projects, this unique covenant provides for a mutual sharing of faith, experience, and culture among the members of the two communities. For more information, contact Sharon Bastasini, or call the parish office, (425) 822-0295.
Peace & Justice Committee
meets periodically to study issues of social justice and global peace and to learn how to live without violence in our own actions and language. By enlisting others to commit themselves to just and peaceful lives through programs and good works, the long-term goal is a world at peace founded on justice for all people. For more information, contact Betsy Staal, or call the parish office, (425) 822-0295 x213.
Rosary Makers
Rosaries are a source of comfort for many people throughout the world and are not always available. A group of parishioners make rosaries that are blessed and sent to as far away as Africa, South America and Asia as well as to those in need right here at home. Rosary Makers meet Wednesdays once a month in the Parish Center. For more information, contact Carla Krekelberg, or call the parish office, (425) 822-0295.
Saint Vincent de Paul Society
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads participants to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person outreach to those who are needy and suffering. The Society responds to requests for emergency services from families and individuals (Catholic and non-Catholic) living within the boundaries of the parish. These requests are met by providing food boxes, utility and rent assistance (when monies are available) and furniture. Parishioner donations fund 100% of the charitable activities of the Society and ongoing food drives at the parish and parish school provide much of the food distributed to the needy. The Society is always seeking new members and accepting contributions (both financial and non-perishable food items). For more information, contact the St. Vincent de Paul Society, (206) 326-9610 or Andrea Liggett at the parish office, (425) 822-0295 x200.
